I would appreciate any help I can find on the value of my 770.Thinking of selling it and buying a new one.It is a 1994 2wd.with 1250 hours,mid mount 60 inch deck,scv,power steering and two stage clutch.The condition is very good ,small rip in seat and two small dents, like if it was shot with a BB gun.Never had problems with it just have the itch for a new one. Thank you much!

Mike be careful on any thing that has been rented. It might have been tortured in it's life. The only thing I do not like about my 770 is the sliding gear trans. Do not take me wrong it's not a big problem just takes some time to get use to.I bought mine in nov. same year 1200 hours 2wd mid mount deck for 5000 and my old 318. It was the in best best shape out of all the used tractors I looked at even the ones with only 500 hours on them that right there sold me. hope this helps a little Jeff N

Hello farmer freinds. After reading some of the post at this site it seems to me that the 4 wheel drive tractors are the only whay to go. That's to bad for me I do not have this option on my JD770. I would like to try to use this tractor to move some dirt and break up the ground for a small garden. Will a rear blade for moving the dirt and maybe a single plow for busting up the ground work with 2wd? Most of my time on the tractor is for mowing the lawn but if I can do this I would be even happier. The weight on the 770 is about 2000LBS. Thank you for any info on this subject. Jeff N

Happy holidays everyone! I have a questions about JD's sliding gear transmissions thay put on their 670,770 and 970. The dealer told me that ''gear clashing'' or ginding is normal for this type of trans. Is this true? It seems to me the gears would live a short life if I had to do a lot of shifting like loader work. Most of my work 90% is mowing the lawn but when I occasionally go to shift I get this grinding noise. I also checked the owners manual for cluch play and that looks good. I hope this is a dependable type transmission? because every thing else about this tractor ,770 I like and I do not want to damage this in any way.I am the second owner and the tractor has 1200 hours on it two wheel drive with the optional continuous live trans. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. THANKS Jeff N
